Alternative music should focus on how a groups' music is their very own style when compared to other groups' music during a certain period in time like the 70's, etc.
A perfect example of an alternative band from the 70's was Pavlov's Dog. Their unusal musical style, combining different instruments, the ways they used the melotron, now to mention the unusual vocal style of their lead singer made them a prime althernative music group.
Many have tried to reproduce some parts of their style in music but none have been able to captured it yet. |
